Monthly Bird Walks

On the second Sunday of every month we run a guided bird walk around the park. See our events programme for dates. Routes will vary depending on the time of year and last up to three hours. Wear suitable clothing as at times paths can be very muddy. We meet at 9am in the car park on Sandford Lane (opposite the Dinton Activity Centre entrance) and ask for a donation of £2 per adult.

Join us for  our annual Dawn Chorus walk. Held in April, the very early start will reward you with a not to be forgotten experience. More details will be published in the Events Programme.

Car park charges apply for the monthly and annual Dawn Chorus walks.

Images in the gallery below show the route of a typical bird walk, starting with a view of the car park field. Most often the walk will then proceed across Sandford Lane to Black Swan Lake, White Swan Lake and Sandford Lake, before re-crossing the road to follow the River Loddon footpath to Lea Farm GP. Re-tracing this section arrives back at Lavell’s Lake, where the Teal hide and Bittern hide will be visited. The circular route is then completed back at the car park.
